Outdoor Solutions

Outdoor Solutions is a Maryland-based outdoor living and landscape construction company that specializes in designing and building high-end residential and commercial outdoor spaces throughout Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. The company focuses on creating functional, luxury outdoor environments that blend landscaping, hardscaping, pools, and custom structures into cohesive backyard living experiences. Their services include patios, retaining walls, walkways, outdoor kitchens, fire features, pergolas, pavilions, swimming pools, landscape construction, and commercial outdoor projects.

The company traces its roots to Barrick & Sons, a long-established family-owned outdoor business based in Walkersville, Maryland. Outdoor Solutions later rebranded under the leadership of Nick Toms while maintaining ties to the Barrick family of companies, which also includes Barrick Garden Center and Barrick Deck & Fence. The business emphasizes craftsmanship, personalized service, and long-term customer relationships, positioning itself as a premium contractor for outdoor living construction rather than a standard landscaping company.

Outdoor Solutions markets itself around the idea of transforming backyards into lifestyle-focused spaces for entertaining, relaxation, and family gatherings. Their messaging consistently highlights custom design, quality materials, and attention to detail. The company appears especially focused on “luxury outdoor living,” offering complete project design-and-build services from concept through installation. Their portfolio and marketing materials strongly emphasize visually polished outdoor environments with integrated hardscapes, structures, lighting, and pools.
